Touching Lives in the New Year
Updated: Jan 11
5:00am comes early, especially on a Monday morning...but our Soloy Outreach Team, made up of local team members, a group from Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg, GA, and Dr. Bryan Kaiser, the founder of God's Eyes International, was up and making ready for the hour and forty-five minute drive into the rugged mountains of the Comarca Ngäbe-Buglé. This is the largest and most populous indigenous reservation in the Republic of Panama, situated in the northwestern part of the country.
It is said that the higher the cost, the greater the rewards, and our Father certainly rewarded us with three powerful days of ministry. Over 425 dear lives were touched by the love of God, many receiving the glasses that will allow them to see clearly, perhaps for the first time.
One dear older gentleman was seen excitedly showing his wife the leaves on tree. He had never seen the individual leaves before. Hundreds more can now see clearly to read and sew, a major source of income, again.
Most importantly, dozens of dozens came to know the saving grace of our Lord, accepting His free gift of Salvation. Team members even had the opportunity to visit with a local family in their home to pray for a sick child, and to help transport a young boy with a broken leg to the local health clinic.
As the new year gets underway, we once again stand in awe of God's love, power and grace, as well as His kindness to allow us to serve Him in this way. All Glory to King Jesus!
